- 4 slices SPAM® Bachan’s® Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce Flavored
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons mirin
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 4 slices HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® bacon, crisply cooked
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 3 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- Furikake
- 1 sheet nori, cut into 4 strips
- Bachan’s® Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce, for serving
- In skillet over medium-high heat, cook SPAM® Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce Flavored slices 3 to 5 minutes or until browned.
- In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, mirin, sugar and salt. In non-stick skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Pour one-third egg mixture into pan. Once eggs start to set, fold it like an omelet onto itself, turning it to the side of the pan, making room to add another one-third amount of egg mixture. Let that amount set and roll omelet in opposite direction to layer together. Repeat with remaining egg mixture to create one layered rolled omelet. Cut into 4 sections.
- Place 1/3 cup rice mixture into musubi press or plastic lined empty SPAM® Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce Flavored can. Press down. Remove press. Sprinkle formed rice liberally with furikake. Top with cheese slice, bacon strip, egg section and SPAM® Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce Flavored slice. Wrap with nori. Moisten one end slightly to fasten together. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
