Musubi Tacos

Is your family torn over having Mexican food, Chinese food or Hawaiian food? Well, this SPAM® Musubi taco is sure to please everyone. It’s a trifecta of flavor with Chinese sausage, a soy glaze and of course, glorious SPAM® Classic!

  • 1 12-ounce can SPAM® Classic, cut into 1/4
  • Chinese sausage
  • Roasted seaweed flakes
  • Wasabi sesame seeds or regular sesame seeds as garnish
  • Kewpie mayo
  • Package of roti flat bread or tortillas
  • Sushi rice (cook per instructions on package)
  • Pickled Daikon & Carrots
  • 2 carrots
  • ½ daikon radish
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 1½ cup vinegar
  • 4½ cups cold water
  • Soy Glaze
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup mirin
  • 1/3 cup sugar


  • 1.Slice ½ daikon radish and 2 carrots into julienne strips.
  • 2.Mix 1½ cup sugar, 1½ cup vinegar, 4½ cups water together in a large bowl to create a pickle solution.
  • 3.Submerge daikon radish and carrots into bowl of pickle solution.
  • 4.Store in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • 5.In a small saucepan combine ½ cup soy sauce, ½ cup mirin, 1/3 cup sugar.
  • 6.Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer. Adjust to taste.
  • 7.Reduce to about 3/4 cup. The consistency should be similar to honey.
  • 8.Remove from heat and let it cool down then transfer to squeezable bottle.
  • 9.Add 1½ tablespoon pickled daikon/carrots to the center of the roti flatbread or tortilla.
  • 10.Add 1½ tablespoon cooked rice on top.
  • 11.Pan fry SPAM® Classic & Chinese Sausage for a few minutes (no oil needed). Add 4-5 pieces of SPAM® Classic & 4-5 pieces of Chinese sausage.
  • 12.Add 1½ tablespoons of roasted seaweed flakes over the top.
  • 13.Drizzle Kewpie mayo and soy glaze over the top.
  • 14.Sprinkle sesame seeds.
