The SPAM® Museum Few experiences in life are as meaningful and meaty-filled as those you’ll have at the magnificent SPAM® Museum. Referred to by some meat historians as The Guggenham, Porkopolis or M.O.M.A. (Museum Of Meat-Themed Awesomeness), the SPAM® Museum is home to the world’s most comprehensive collection of spiced pork artifacts.

  • The SPAM® name was suggested by Kenneth Daigneau, the brother of a Hormel Foods vice president, at a New Year’s Eve gala.

  • SPAM® Stinky French Garlic collector’s edition was introduced in England in conjunction with the opening of the the musical SPAMALOT™.

  • SPAM® Classic made its cyberspace debut in 1998 with the launch of its official brand homepage at spam.com -- where you’re staring right now!

  • In 2000, the SPAM® brand received its own Minnesota State lottery ticket scratch game. Astonishingly, the tickets were not scratch ‘n sniff.

  • SPAM® products have appeared in several movies, including Soul Surfer and Yogi Bear, most recently. No word on whether the can got its own trailer.

  • The SPAM® brand previously sponsored the No. 9 race car in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Unfortunately it did not run on SPAM®.

  • Upon meeting former Russian President Boris Yeltsin, former Hormel Foods President R.L. Knowlton presented him with a can of SPAM® Classic.
