How does the Great American SPAM® Championship Contest work?

  • Pre-register with a fair by their deadline date (the first of them lands in mid-June).
  • Follow the fairs’ rules. Each contestant may enter only one recipe and there’s a 10-ingredient limit.
  • Prepare your dish at home and deliver it to the fair for on-site judging.
  • Use at least one can of any SPAM® variety. Themes can change year to year.
  • Taste, creativity and presentation are the main criteria the fair’s judges use for picking winners.
  • For competition details and complete entry guidelines (often called a “premium book”), contact a host fair’s entry office!
