Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) can SPAM® with Real Hormel Bacon
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons bourbon vanilla
  • Pinch salt

Directions

  • 1.Dice SPAM® into 1/4-inch cubes. Put in large skillet with brown sugar, maple syrup and vanilla.
  • 2.Cook over medium heat until bubbly, then reduce heat to reduce by a third. Allow to cool.
  • 3.In mixing bowl, combine cream, milk, sugar, bourbon vanilla and salt. Stir to dissolve the sugar. 
  • 4.Following your manufacturer’s instructions, freeze the ice cream. As the mixture finishes freezing, and it is still soft, pour into storage container. 
  • 5.Fold in the SPAM® mixture, just swirling it into the ice cream. DO NOT OVER MIX! 
  • 6.Place in freezer to harden.
