Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softnened
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 4 slices American cheese

Directions

  1. Cut SPAM® Classic into 8 slices.
  2. Spread butter on 1 side of each slice bread.
  3. Layer SPAM® and cheese on unbuttered side of 4 slices bread; top with remaining bread, buttered side out.
  4. On hot griddle or in large skillet, cook sandwiches over medium heat until browned on both sides.

Notes

  1. Variations: Layer 2 thin slices tomato with SPAM® Classic and cheese; add 1 tablespoon pickle relish to each sandwich. Or, add a layer of thinly sliced Bermuda onion to the SPAM® Classic and cheese.
