Hero Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons Italian salad dressing
  • 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 (6-ounce) package sliced Provolone cheese
  • 1/2 jar Peloponnese® Roasted Red Peppers Whole, drained
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 10 pitted ripe olives, cut in half
  • Lettuce leaves

Directions

  1. Cut bread in half lengthwise; scoop out some of center. Drizzle dressing over cut sides of bread.
  2. Cut SPAM® Classic into 12 slices; overlap 6 slices on bottom half of bread. Top with tomato, cheese, roasted peppers, onion and olives. Overlap remaining SPAM® slices over top; add lettuce. Cover with top half of bread; press down to compact sandwich.
  3. Wrap sandwich in aluminum foil; refrigerate at least 2 hours to blend flavors. Cut diagonally into 2-inch pieces to serve.
