Are you a SPAM® Champion?
Do you like to cook? Some of the country’s largest state and county fairs feature SPAM® products in special recipe competitions. There are cash prizes, blue ribbons and big bragging rights at stake in the Great American SPAM® Championship. The competition is for people who like to cook for their families and friends (not professional chefs). How it works:
- Pre-register with a fair by their deadline date (the first of them lands in June each year).
- Prepare your dish at home and deliver it to the fair for on-site judging.
- Follow the fairs’ rules. Each contestant may enter only one recipe.
- Use at least one can of any SPAM® variety. Themes sometimes change year to year.
- Criteria for the fairs’ judges are: taste, originality and presentation.
- Use no more than 10 ingredients.
